St. Georges Church at Spesuita Soliciting Donations to Restore Windows |
|
Tuesday, January 12, 2010 20:53 |
|
Most of us pass by St. Georges Episcopal Church at Spesutia as we go about our business on the Perryman Pennisula. Originally established in 1671, the church houses one of America's earliest Anglican parishes. It was also the seat of justice, taxation and education in the early years of it's existence. Now St. Georges invites their Perryman neighbors to help save this historic site for future generations.
The fifteen windows of the structure need extensive work that will cost $1000 each. All donations will be recognized with a plaque that will contain the person or organization's name. Brass plates noting contributions of $1000 will be placed next to the restored window. A plaque listing all those who make donations smaller than $1000 will also be placed in the sanctuary. Any amount is acceptable and greatly appreciated!
You are invited to worship with the congregation any Sunday at 10 am or join them for coffee at the parish house afterward. Please contact Betty Smallwood at 1-717-456-2613 with any questions or to view the windows.
