Neighborhood Watch Picnic Scheduled

Saturday, August 25, 2007 all are invited to gather at Andy Powell's house on Fords Lane to hold the annual Neighborhood Watch meeting and potluck picnic. We will be joined by a Deputy from the Harford County Sheriff's office who will be speaking to us about crime and it's prevention in our neighborhood. Please contact Andy at 410-273-0850 between 5 and 9 pm to rsvp.

Input Requested on APG Border Road

Harford County Department of Public Works has recently submitted an application to the Maryland Department of the Environment requesting authorization to build a road to be called Eastgate Dr. This road is proposed to be a connection between Rt. 715 and the Perryman Peninsula. The project site is between Rt. 715 and Michaelsville Road along the western side of APG. The road will impact approximately 1/4 acre of non-tidal wetlands and about 1/2 acre of non-tidal wetlands buffer.

Mosquito Control

areamapsmThe Maryland Department of Agriculture will be do mosquito control activities in the Perryman & Forest Greens areas. The Department will continue to emphasize modern pest management principals in controlling mosquitos. Abatement efforts will include major emphasis on control at the source (larviciding), whenever possible. Property owners are encouraged to remove any unnecessary water holding containers. The Department also asks that the community report sites of suspected or known mosquito breeding. Contact the Mosquito Control Section of the Maryland Department of Agriculture at 1-301-927-8357.

The US Army announces the availability of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) that
evaluates the potential environmental and socioeconomic effects that would occur upon
implementation of realignment actions at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland pursuant to
recommendations of the 2005 BRAC Commission. Public Meetings on April 10, 2007 and April 11, 2007.

Notice of Application for State Wetlands Licenses, Private Wetland Permits or Water Quality Certification and the Opportunity to Provide Written Comment or Request an Informational Hearing is posted on the BayLand Consultants & Designers, Inc. web site. The web site provides links to the maps of the proposed dredging and the request for individual spurs.
