Construct interchange improvements to address operational issues at MD 715

SHA is improving the capacity of the US 40/MD 715 interchange to handle the projected increase in traffic in the vicinity of Aberdeen Proving Grounds as a result of the federal Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) initiative. All of the interchange ramps will be improved to handle additional traffic and enhance safety. The ramp from eastbound US 40 to southbound MD 715 will be re-aligned in order to increase the distance from the ramp to the signal at Old Philadelphia Road. This will eliminate the traffic weave issue in this area. The existing U-turn on US 40 will be eliminated. That movement will be made via the US 40 off ramp to MD 715. SHA will add new lanes to MD 715 in both directions and make improvements to the intersection at Old Philadelphia Road and MD 715. The construction phase of the project began fall 2010 and the the estimated completion date is summer 2013.

Harford Land Trust's 19th Annual Meeting

Email Print
Harford Land TrustThe Harford Land Trust (HLT) has been an important steward in protecting land throughout Harford County since their first project in our community in 1991. At that time HLT purchased 145 acres of undeveloped lake, tidal inlet and woodlands near the Bush River and established the 103-acre Forest Greens Lake Preserve now owned and managed by the Harford County Department of Parks & Recreation.

In their 20th year, HLT is again working hard in our community to protect over 30 acres of additional land near the Forest Greens Lake Preserve off Mitchell Drive. This land is currently owned by a developer who has approval to develop over 20 townhouses. In support of their direct dedication to our community they are requesting a large turn out from the Perryman - Forest Greens communities at their annual membership meeting on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 10pm. Please help support this valuable organization.
