Beware of Home Inspection Scam

Harford County Government is cautioning residents of the county to beware of fraudulent home inspections. Several residences in the areas of Barrington Village Court and Gatehouse Court near Bel Air, were approached by individuals representing themselves as employees from the Harford County Agriculture Department. The individuals allegedly attempted to gain access to homes by stating they were checking homes in the area for ant and spider infestations.
Harford County does not have a Department of Agriculture and does not employ outside contractors to conduct home inspections for ant or spider infestations. No such inspections are conducted by Harford County Government.Harford County Executive David R. Craig reminds citizens not to allow anyone representing themselves as a government official or representative into their home or residence without proper identification.
