Harford County
Government released the following bulletin on August 14, 2007 to caution residents of the county of fraudulent home
inspections.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 14,
2007
Harford County
Government is cautioning residents of the county to beware of fraudulent home
inspections. Several residences in the
areas of Barrington Village Court
and Gatehouse Court
near Bel Air, were approached by individuals representing themselves as
employees from the Harford County Agriculture Department. The individuals allegedly attempted to gain
access to homes by stating they were checking homes in the area for ant and
spider infestations.
Harford County does not have a Department of Agriculture
and does not employ outside contractors to conduct home inspections for ant or
spider infestations. No such inspections
are conducted by Harford County Government.
Harford County Executive David R. Craig reminds
citizens not to allow anyone representing themselves as a government official
or representative into their home or residence without proper identification.
