The US Army announces the availability of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) that
evaluates the potential environmental and socioeconomic effects that would occur upon
implementation of realignment actions at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland pursuant to
recommendations of the 2005 BRAC Commission. Public Meetings on April 10, 2007 and April 11, 2007.
Summary
The US Army
announces the availability of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS)
that evaluates the potential environmental and socioeconomic effects that would
occur upon implementation of realignment actions at Aberdeen Proving Ground,
Maryland pursuant to recommendations of the 2005 BRAC Commission. The DEIS
addresses alternatives that include renovation of existing facilities and
construction of new facilities required to accommodate incoming military
missions and a net gain of about 4,400 people. Activities realigning to
Aberdeen Proving Ground are administrative and research and development in
nature.

Federal Register on March 14, 2007, Volume 72, Number 49, Page 11849-11850,

The US Army welcomes written comments or suggestions concerning the
analyses and alternatives addressed in the DEIS. Comment sheets along with any
other written materials that you would like to enter into the meeting record may
be left at the Comments Station at the public meetings or mailed to the point of
contact listed on the back of this sheet. If you would prefer to provide an
oral statement, a court reporter will be available to record your comments at
the public meeting. Oral statements will be limited to 5 minutes.
