Dear
Neighbor:
This
letter is a follow up to the Forest Greens/Perryman Community Association
(FGPCA) annual fall meeting held on November 14, 2007 where a draft community
development plan was discussed. At that meeting the Development Committee of
the Forest Greens/Perryman Community Association presented details of the
impending development of the Perryman Peninsula. County officials have
suggested as a community that we prepare our strategy to clearly state our
community issues. Volunteers have prepared the enclosed summary brochure
designed to introduce you to our more thorough and complete draft called "FGPCA Development Committee DRAFT Report for
Sustainable Growth" which describes the association's vision and
plan for a sustainable quality of life on the peninsula. Please review the
brochure to gain insight to the future and how your participation as a resident
and landowner in Perryman can assist in reaching healthy community goals.
The
fact is that the Department of Defense base relocation and closure (BRAC) has
expanded Aberdeen Proving Ground operations. According to state and local
officials, the APG expansion will undoubtedly have a tremendous effect on the
nearby Perryman Community. Our volunteers have organized years of information
from studies completed in the area. The draft is our plan to articulate the
Community's concerns and make recommendations for growth and be an important
part of future development. Our goal is to preserve the health of our community
forests, wetlands, waters, wildlife, and history of the Perryman Peninsula and
at the same time assist in sustainable development.
The
FGPCA has made it possible for you to communicate with our development
committee. The committee members will explain the importance of everyone's
participation in this effort by holding a future open meeting. Prior to the
public meeting our volunteers will record your comments and responses as
community input from the Perryman Area. Please contact the FGPCA Development
Committee to respond to our request for your opinion on the quality of life on
the Perryman Peninsula by January 25,
2008. To view a full copy of the draft, please visit this page.
"Our
vision is to help shape a community where integrated planning and urban design
contribute to an improved civic and natural environment to enhance quality of
life, sustain economic development, and maintain the community's unique identity
and heritage." It is very important for us to represent the goals of the
association membership and residents that are a part of our community to
achieve our goals. Thank you for your participation.
Sincerely,
Harry
V Webster, Jr.
