On May 28, the State Highway Administrationis hosting a public meeting for the proposed Phase 2 of the US 40 (Pulaski Highway) /MD 7 (Philadelphia Road) /MD 159 (Old Philadelphia Road) Intersection Improvement Project in Aberdeen.    

Phase 1 of the intersection improvements, a $2 million construction project to widen MD 7 at the intersection to provide new turn lanes from MD 7 to US 40, was completed fall 2014.

The proposed Phase 2 of the intersection improvements will be a new project to widen US 40 and MD 159 at the intersection to provide new through and turn lanes on US 40 EB and WB to improve safety and operations of the intersectionand improve access to Aberdeen Proving Ground, commercial and industrial facilities in Aberdeen.  SHA anticipates construction will begin fall 2015 and end fall 2018.
